Watto Wattoo

This little fella just popped into my head and pretty much no-one else in the office remembers it.

Watto Watto is a super bird, he's (or She's) French and is still as trippy as when i first saw it approximately 25 years ago.

Christophe Huet

You can see more of Christophe's wonderful wacky world right here.

Mississippi Techno*

Saw Seasick Steve last night at The Scala in Kings Cross. Charming, engaging and hob-nail boot stomping it was too. Shame some of the crowd were complete dicks that couldn't stop shouting shit out like they were at Kylie concert.

Here is he on Jules Holland.

* I told you i'd nick it Jase.

Leggit!

More lovely (and slightly mad) furniture design from Gareth Neal here

Hand Job

I've been to plenty of gigs in my time and had a crimson smudge branded onto the back of my hand by a miserable looking goth girl as a mark of entry.

Well our 'Kinda friends but we wished they'd stop being such a pain in the arse and try to get on with everyone rather than constantly rubbing them up the wrong way with their loud voices and painfully conservative view points' from across the pond have taken the branding part of that exercise to a new level.

What a waste of time. As pointed out on their website these images have been photoshopped. That's because your brand will be a sweaty unrecognizable smudge within seconds of it being applied (by the miserable goth) and of no use to man or brand marketer.

That's about the size of it...

what would digital be though?

Brilliant on so many levels

The T-shirts that never were

Not true in my or pretty much anyone else's case, but still an excellent thing to have emblazoned across one's chest.

More indie non t-shirts with a difference here and here.

Unusal ad for a bank...

Another lovely print...

that will go rather well with the one i got my hands on a few weeks ago.

Keep on looking and after a while your 'loaf' will be completely 'done in' - as twere.

Caribou

Playing at Dingwalls at the end of November - i'm gonna be there with my mate Jase - and they will fill that small room with wonderful sounds.

A brief history of Lego

Quite simply the best thing to have been made out of Lego ever - fact!

Vampire Weekend

Saw Vampire Weekend last night at The Borderline. They were excellent, really excellent. If anyone out there is going to see The Shins at Hammersmith get in early and see the support - this time the hype is to be believed.

You can hear some sessions on Daytrotter, but their debut full-length record isn't out until Jan 08 i think.

Fry's Quirkish Delight

'Lust, desire, pleasure demanded, pleasure received, reward, punishment, deferral, delay, arrival, joy, rush, gorging, rush, rush, rush sickness, shame, guilt. Crash. Down. Despair. Need … more, more sugar, more rush, more reward. Need it now. No money left. Help. Steal. Need. Discovery. Exposure. Shame.'

That's Stephen Fry's words not mine. He's writing about sweets, and more importantly on addiction. He's writing on his blog.

He's such a cool bloke - we should all read it.

What a fantastic job title...

or maybe he actually has a head made of crisps. And if he has, what flavour would they be?

I guess if he was from the higher classes it would be something like Cracked Black Pepper & Shiitake Mushroom.

And if he was working class, Prawn Cocktail or cheap Salt n Vinegar Space Raider flavour.

Or maybe i'm just a cock and shouldn't post such bollocks.

Pissing in B minor

This is all over the walls in the gents at the Luminiare in Kilburn. Something to do with the sound engineers i'm led to believe. More interesting than MUFC or Mike is a Cock i guess.

Couldn't agree more

Missionary Disposition

So you're out in the wilderness teaching the natives that your Monotheistic principals are more valid than their Polytheistic ones because...er, well nevermind. Why not put some humorous (read humourless) stickers into your scrapbook so you and your Mormon friends can have a laugh when you're back in Salt Lake City, preaching that crap vunerables that are slightly more local.

'...and you're back in the womb'

Saw some friends yesterday with their new boy, Orson. This is he wearing the smashing pair of Vans we brought him.

Anyhoo, they had a hypnobirth (well done Shif, amazing stuff), hence the lame gag. And that reminded me of the Hypno Toad...

Don't stare into his eyes too long.

Eames Hacking is basically what it says - hacking up an Eames peice and making it into something else. Art students eh?

Sing when you're Win-ing

Nice promo for The A Fire's Neon Bible - see it here.

Beaver stole my Pocket Scramble

Well at least that's what me and the boys think. We can't prove anything and the incident in question happened almost 20 years ago but the little shit took my game - i know it.

I thought of this coz half the creative team here are playing Mario Cart on their DSs. I don't play computer games much at all - but i loved my Pocket Scramble - you're a bastard Beaver.

A tonne of post

That last post about the A2Z print was my 100th. I thought it'll be nice to mention that, and it still us, but as you can see this is something that lots of people do...

about 2,250,000 people in fact - so i score twelvty for originality.

I wonder how long it will take for me to be top of google's "people who have marked their 100th post" list?

A is for Adder

Another wonderful print that i have just brought for my new flat.

Eames Eames, good for the heart...

Due in part to my beloved's impeccable taste, and the fact that they make totally wicked chairs, I've become somewhat of an Eamesophile.

Apparently they also designed some elephants that never went into production - until now that is. And Charles' Grandson also made a video.

Whoever's producing these pleasant pachyderms are having a Turkish if they think I'm paying just short of 2 grand for one though.

Sweet way to teach your future Wayne Sleep how to two step.

Paintball Panzer

I hate paintball. Passionately. But with one of these i could see the attraction. In fact, forget the paintball, just drive it through town and dish out deserved retribution to everyone who... errr, deserves it.

I really don't know what to say about this, other than it's Germany's latest energy drink brand, apparently.

'I Like Helicopters'

The voice of my gaffer as he looked at these shots. And he's right, Helicopters are fresh as fudge.

Jason Hawkes also likes Helicopters. And he takes photos from them.

These are said photos.

And they are fresh as fudge.
